Introduction
Having acquired the former Comrie Colliery site in early 2021 the Comrie Development Company (CDC) has set in motion plans to regenerate the site into an unrivalled development destination offering leisure, residential and employment uses coupled with sustainable and emerging technological uses.
Millions of tonnes of carbon have been removed from the site since the extraction of fossil fuels ceased in 1986 and major remediation works have been conducted. Funding has been invested to further the site ready for development with CDC committing further funding to complete the planning process.
